Video Rating: 4 / 5
In this video we will show you how to remote desktop to a window system and or windows to Ubuntu using a program called Team viewer with out the need of Wine. In the video we used Ubuntu 10.04 64bit with Team-Viewer 64bit and we where able to remote support a Windows XP user. Just need to download team-viewer on both computers in witch you would like to remote support and run program and share the ID and password.

I need a keyboard for this, Any suggestions?
Зашибись) мне бы так на моём оптимусе)))
Awesome! I just want it on my LG GT540!!!
Well, that’s an interesting idea to run Remote Desktop on an Android tablet…but if you’re doing that kind of work you really ought to switch to a proper PC or at least a netbook. Squinting at code on a tiny screen? No thanks.
how about deinterlacing your videos?
nice video! and nice accent! ; )
Where did you pick up your Keyboard and Mouse from?
will the new archos 10,1″ tablet be able to run this with windows 7?
My Mouse is lagging like hell and the Pointer is a Cross. Do you have any ideas why ?
what is the latest firmware for this device can it run android 2.2
Hello
Is there an android where you can Remote Desktop from a mobile phone is a htc wildfire ?????
you can use blueinput for android to have bluetooth keyboard support on android
hey i have a question would any blue tooth mouse be compatible with this device and if not could you send me a link to the website where you go the one shown in the video?
Nice video.
it comes with docking station, right? so i can hook to it various usb 2.0 devices if i want? nice video. it would be nice if this type of device had(maybe on docking port) a network ethernet port in case i need it should wifi capability doesn’t work for some weird reason.
Would you know how to connect to vpn by any chance? I have Archos 5 IT with 2.0.15 frameware, but can’t seem to figure out how to connect to work network via vpn. Thanks
Awesome!
its cool, but if this kind of control was an important factor, than i probably wouldn’t be looking at the archos. the main reason i look to archos is because, unlike the rest of the world, archos hasn’t decided that more than 32gb of space is not important in portable devices. i have to say, though, you’ve taken the archos well beyond i would have ever imagined using it.
Absolutely wicked!
yeah, only degenerates use qwerty.
omg…. COOL if you have all that but then in the 500gb version + a monitor!( it has tv out put right?)
on Amazon it says archos 5 500GB with Android has 4 hours of video playback (battery power).. while the archos 5 250 gb (non android) has 7 hour playback with video. why is that?
Also can i buy the archos 5 500GB with no Android featues? what exacly are the Android features vs standard archos 5?
It’s unfortunate that’s it in QWERTY? huh?
The keyboard impressed me more than the tablet..
im an iphone user and i seriously agree with android
androids will eat apples one day lol
i want an android tablet as big as the ipadx.x
You’re missing like half of the word… it’s ubuntu
what is this??????????????
this is fucking…!!!
I have not tested this my self as of yet but if its build on a Linux build it should work just fine.
Will teamViewer work with the Zorin distro to control an XP computer?
oh can i connect both computers one to the other with out a router just one cat5 between the too
so i could run xp on my old laptop then connect to it with my desk top running ubuntu 10.04 and see and use the windows stuff on the laptop ?????

man it’s just rock
prefect program
thanks
AUTOSTART:
systempreferencesstartup aplications
ye have to create a pointer to the .sh script which includes path to the soft
your a champion!
Wow, dude, you really helped me out with this! I had to setup Remote Desktop for my mom’s computer (cause she asks for help way often). The one built in XP was a pain (firewalls, port forwarding etc.) Plus I’m on Ubuntu.
Teamviewer installed just fine on both systems and worked like a charm – no firewall or port forwarding hell. It’s awesome to see software that just works as it should out of the box and is free. Made my day. Thanks so much for this advice! Will hook up my gf’s computer too.
System->Preferences->Startup Applications
awesome!!! thanks for the info
this is a great vid. i was just messing with my desktop (windows xp) from my ubuntu 10.10 laptop (i personally dont like 11.04) and it works great. now that i know how to use this i can help my friends much easier if they ever have a computer problem =D
Thanks a lot for uploading this.
this is not what i was looking for. I use this software with my clients and it is similar to VNC, except for this u don’t need to tunnel any port on your firewall. And if i remember u can’t use teamviewer from withen your network to your network. meaning if you are in the same subnet, it won’t allow u to. What i am looking for, which I would go back to Ubuntu blog site is if there is anyway I can download RDP to my ubuntu and run it just like windows
you can do it by going to system>preferences>startup
how to do that with a vserver, so through cmd?
Thanks for the quick reply.
I am just wondering if we can add teamviewer to the startup application. I tried but I’m not sure how to use the command part.
It will be if the speed of the connection is slow. But I use this with two computers that are on high speed cable and its not laggy for me.
There is no way of doing this that I know of.
Also, how do you make Teamviewer to automatically turn on on Ubuntu?
How’s the performance of teamviewer on Ubuntu?
Is it laggy when you are connected to Ubuntu from Windows?
I dont think there is a auto start.
