Playing Left 4 Dead PC Splitscreen Co-op with Two Wiimotes

Submitted by admin on March 11, 2010 – 4:46 pmNo Comment

Spent four nights getting this to work, and it’s worth it. Even added shake controls (shake wiimote to reload, nunchuk to spin 180). Thanks to — Carl Kenner and Glovepie the Wiili.org community ppjoy and joyid Frank for costarring Tin for directing Jeff for some scripting How to summary: You use Glovepie so your wiimotes can talk to your PC via Bluetooth, create virtual Joysticks in ppjoy, which integrates with Glovepie seamlessly, and then create a script in Glovepie to use for your game. There are a lot of scripts in Wiili.org that you can use as a template in creating your own script. There’s also this site, Wiidows.fr, where Jeromote posts a whole bunch of scripts for games such as Crysis and Assassin’s Creed. Of course, you’ll also need to follow the Left 4 Dead Splitscreen PC guide already available in a lot of sites and forums around the web. I’ll post a guide here soon, but really, it’s so easy to just get a working Glovepie FPS script from Wiili.org or Wiidows.fr and customize that for Left 4 Dead. Hint: you can’t have two keyboard + mouse setups, so you’ll need to map your controls to two joysticks, with the wiimote aiming mapped to an analog stick. And you have to make it so that the virtual joysticks are controller ID 1 and 2. You can use joyid (www.wingmanteam.com to do this (this was the last piece of the puzzle for me). For the longer guide, visit ryantani.com .
